The Dental Education Unit, VMSDC facilitated a workshop on “PBL - Learning Principles and an overview” as Faculty Development Program on 12th of March, 2024. The program was organized & coordinated by DEU, VMSDC. The resource person was Prof. Dr Maya Ramesh, MDS, Ph.D (Dept. of Oral Pathology). The workshop was held at Board Room, VMSDC from 9.30 AM to 3.30 PM.

The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Dr J Sabarinathan, Pro Vice Chancellor ,VMRF -DU, Dr J Baby John, Dean, VMSDC, Dr R Saranyan Associate Dean (Academics). The faculty participants were addressed, about the value of PBL by Prof. Dr J Sabarinathan, Director (Academics) VMSDC-VMRF (DU) & awarded the speaker with certificate. This workshop included  lectures on PBL – Learning Principles, Lecture on problem construction and Lecture on PBL facilitation with  2 workshops, one on Problem Construction and the other on Facilitation workshop. Totally 17 faculty members had participated. The feedbacks were also collected online and certificates were also given .  

The program served as a reference for the mentors as they seek to develop PBL as a teaching and learning methodology that can be utilized to assess and evaluate the students.
