TOBACCO CESSATION AWARENESS RALLY
“WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY” : Grow food not tobacco
Department of Public Health Dentistry, with NSS unit,Vinayaka Mission’s
Sankarachariyar Dental College, Salem along with DDHS office,Salem conducted
“TOBACCO CESSATION AWARENESS RALLY” with the theme “WORLD NO
TOBACCO DAY: “Grow food not tobacco” on 31.05.2023.
Dr.N.Saravanan, welcomed the gathering. Dr.AswanthVetrivel delivered chief guest
address. Dr.N.P.Rubesh Sharma, Assistant ProfessorDepartment of Community
Medicine, GMKMC, Salem gave lecture on role of dentist in Tobacco Cessation.
All the participants took PLEDGE for Saying NO TO TOBACCO.
“TOBACCO CESSATION AWARENESS RALLY” was flagged off by Dr.Aswanth
Vetrivel, (District Consultant, District Tobacco Control Cell, Salem),
Dr.M.Radhalakshmi (APM, DDHS Salem) and Dr.N.Saravanan (Professor and Head,
Department of Public Health Dentistry,VMSDC).
The rally started from Deputy Director of health services Office, Salem via Thiruvalluvar
statue and Salem corporation office and ended at DDHS office.Tobacco awareness
pamphlets were distributed to the public.
A total of 200 students were participated in the awareness rally.
Under the guidance of Dr.N.Saravanan, Professor and Head, Dr.C.Bharath, Associate
Professor and Dr. S. Santhakumari, Assistant Professor of Department of Public
Health Dentistry coordinated the program.
