“WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY”: Grow food not tobacco

On account of WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY Department of Public Health Dentistry, with
NSS unit, Vinayaka Mission’s Sankarachariyar Dental College, Salem along with DONBOSCO
Salem conducted “FREE TOBACCO CESSATION & DENTAL CAMP” for Auto Drivers &
Transport Employees at Central Bus Stand, Salem on 31.05.2023.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr.AswanthVetrivel, District Consultant, District Tobacco
Control Cell, Salem, in the presence of Dr.N.Saravanan, Professor and Head, Department of
Public Health Dentistry,VMSDC and N.Nirmala Devi, Project Manager,T. Vellingiri Care
Giver, Open Shelter Don Bosco Anbu Illam,Salem.
Tobacco Cessation counselling and oral screening done for the Auto Drivers, Transport
Employees and public. Tobacco awareness pamphlets were distributed.
A total of 35 were benefitted from the camp.
Under the guidance of Dr.N.Saravanan, Professor and Head, Dr.C.Bharath, Associate
Professor Dr. K Priya Deepa Lakshmi Associate Professor and Dr Prasanta Majumder,
Assistant Professor of Department of Public Health Dentistry coordinated the program.
