Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,Vinayaka missions sankarachariyar Dental college Salem Organised Cyclothon for ” A Public Awareness Initiative for Wearing Seat Belt & Helmet” in association with “Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of a India-Tamil nadu & Puducherry Branch”on 12TH February 2023.This event was conducted to create Awareness for people to wear seat belt and helmet and to create a awareness to people about the role played by Maxillofacial surgeons .There were nearly 100 participants for the cyclothon from various parts of Salem. The Event was Initiated by Dr.Reena John,Vice Dean(Research) and Vinayaka Missions Sankarachariyar Dental College was the Principle Sponsor of the Event. The Brochure was Released by Dr.Baby John,Dean-VMSDC. The Event was Broadcasted on ‘Hello FM’91.5. The Cyclothon was inaugurated by Mr.M.Madasamy,Deputy Commissioner of Police,North District,Salem City, along with Head of the Department Dr.J.Arun kumar, Dr.Saraniyan,Vice Dean-VMSDC, Dr.B.S.Saravanan( Zonal incharge TN-AOMSI) and the Event was Organised by Dr.A.Narendran and other members of Aomsi Salem and Faculties from Department of Oral Surgery. The Program was conducted at Narasus Mahal,Cherry road to Foot hills of yercaud from 6.00am ,there were 2 categories 10kms/5kms.Participants of various age groups participated actively in this cyclothon.There were many sponsors for this event like Decathlon,VIMS Hospital,Neuro foundation Hosp,Kurinji Hosp,Dr.Mona’s Skin Care,SS enterprises, KV-Gym. First 3 places in 10kms/5kms were awarded with medals and other participants who have completed received their participation medal and certificate.
