The clinical society meeting by Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was
conducted on 24.02.2022 at Founder’s Hall. The meeting commenced at 9.00 a.m. and ended
at 10.35 a.m. Topic- “Role of Maxillofacial Surgeons in the management of Mucormycosis
patients in COVID pandemic era.”
The first speaker Dr. Kohilavani, II year postgraduate student did a presentation on
“Introduction and journal peek – Mucormycosis and its implication in Covid”. The next
speaker Dr.Kathirvel, II year postgraduate student, did “Case presentation – Comprehensive
management of Mucormycosis”. The third speaker Dr.Suresh.C. - MDS, Assistant Professor,
did a presentation on “Dental update – Recent advances in management of Mucormycosis
patients”. An interactive quiz was conducted by Dr.Manoj , Assistant professor .
The program was awarded with 2 CDE point with TNDC approval no: 64/22.
Certificates were presented to the speakers by Our Dean Prof.Dr.Baby John, Our
Associate Dean, Prof. Dr.Reena John & Head of the Department of Oral and maxillofacial Surgey,
Dr. J.ArunKumar. The certificate of appreciation to winner of MCQ Session was awarded to
Dr.Annu Maria Varghese, CRI.
A total of 149 participants comprising of 53 staffs, 43 Postgraduates and 53 Interns
attended the program. Certificate of attendance was given to all participants. Feedback forms
have been sent and responses recorded.
