    3 DAY LIVE SURGICAL WORKSHOP

    “DENTAL REHABILITATION FOR MUCORMYCOSIS PATIENT WITH CORTICOBASAL IMPLANTS”
    There was a 3 day Live surgical workshop from 24/01/2022 to 26/01/2022,which was organised by
    Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,Vinayaka Missions Sankarachariyar Dental College in
    association with SIMPLADENT. This was the First Physical Workshop in this year.This Workshop was
    initiated by Dr.Reena John.,MDS.,Ph.D , Associate Dean Research who was the Organising
    Chairperson of the workshop.
    The Course Director was Dr.Vivek Gaur.,MDS (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon) from New Delhi and the
    Course Faculty was Dr.Faizur Rahmaan.,MDS (Prosthodontist) from Chennai.
    The purpose of this workshop was for treating the 4 Mucormycosis affected patients who needed
    Dental Rehabilitation and to impart the knowledge and skill in Corticobasal implantology.
    The Highlights of the Workshop were

     Back to back surgical procedures
     Simultaneously prosthetic phase
     Hands on experience with STL Models

    There were 25 participants from Delhi,Mumbai,Bangalore,Kolar,Coimbatore,Trichy,Madurai and
    Salem.
    The Workshop was inaugurated by Dr.J.Baby John , Dean Vinayaka Missions Sankarachariyar Dental
    College Salem. The Welcome address was given by Dr.J.Arun kumar , HOD Department of Oral and
    Maxillofacial Surgery and Organising Secretary . The speakers were introduced by Dr.Reena John
    Associate Dean Research . Vote of thanks was given by Dr.C.Balamanikanda Srinivasan Associate
    Professor . There was a Press meet where the Dean VMSDC and the Faculties of the workshop briefed
    on the importance of this workshop and its impact on the quality of life of the patients who were
    treated during the workshop.
    The Feedback on the workshop was encouraging and the need for further such workshops was
    stressed by many participants.
    The 3 rd day finished with the Valedictory function.
