Fundamentals of Research for Young Researchers
The Institutional research committee had organized a workshop on “Fundamentals of Research for Young Researchers” for Interns, First year postgraduates and Fresher staff of VMSDC
A total of 7 sessions were planned for three days with seven speakers. The program was credited by the TN DCI with 7 CDE points, TNDC approval No. 266/21.Day 1 – 13.12.2021
The first day of the workshop began with Welcome address by Dr. P. Rajathi welcoming the participants, resource persons and the chief guest, Dr. J. Baby John.
Dean, Dr. J. Baby John and Associate Dean- Research, Dr. Reena Rachel John addressed the gathering.
The first session of Day 1 started with Dr. Nisha sam lecture on “Search to Research” followed by asking questions to the students related to her topic and the answers were discussed.
The second lecture of Day 1 on the topic “Raw materials for Research" was delivered by Dr. Reena Rachel John, followed by asking questions to the students related to her topic and the answers were discussed.
The students actively participated in both the sessions and answered the questions and their doubts were clarified.
A total of 82 participants including 57 interns, 15 First year postgraduates and 10 faculties participated in the workshop.
Day 2 – 14.12.2021
The Second day of the workshop was moderated by Dr. C. Balamanikandasrinivasan.
The first session of Day 2 started with a lecture on “Design your Research” by Dr. P. Rajathi. At the end of the session a Google form with questions related to the topic was sent by Whats App to all the participants through Google form link.
The second lecture of Day 2 on the topic “Descriptive study” was delivered by Dr. S. Sunantha. At the end of the session a Google form with questions related to the topic was sent by Whats App to all the participants through Google form link.
The students actively participated in both the sessions and answered the questions asked through Google form and the answers were discussed by the resource persons and participant’s doubts were clarified.
A total of 81 participants including 56 interns, 16 First year postgraduates and 9 faculties participated in the workshop.
Day 3 – 15.12.2021
The Third day of the workshop was moderated by Dr. S. Sunantha & Dr. P. Rajathi.
The first session of Day 3 started with a lecture on “Analytical study” by Dr. D. Jayachandran. At the end of the session a Google form with questions related to the topic was sent by Whats App to all the participants through Google form link.
The second lecture of Day 3 on the topic “Designing Data Collection Tool” was delivered by Dr. C. Balamanikandasrinivasan. At the end of the session a Google form with questions related to the topic was sent by Whats App to all the participants through Google form link.
The third lecture of Day 3 on the topic “How to write a Research Proposal” was delivered by Dr. K. Indrapriyadharshini. At the end of the session a Google form with questions related to the topic was sent by Whats App to all the participants through Google form link.
The students actively participated in all the sessions and answered the questions asked through Google form and the answers were discussed by the resource persons and participant’s doubts were clarified.
On behalf of the participants Mr. Ramvel, Intern and Dr. P. Jawahar, First year Postgraduate from the department of Prosthodontics gave feedback about the workshop on “Fundamentals of Research for Young Researchers” organized by the Institutional Research Committee.
A total of 74 participants including 50 interns, 15 First year postgraduates and 9 faculties participated in the workshop. Feedback was collected for all 3 days of workshop from all the participants through Google forms.
