On the occasion of 'World No Tobacco Day’ 31st May 2021 based on the official theme “I can! I will! I must!" “Commit to Quit”,  Department of Public Health Dentistry, Vinayaka Missions Sankarachariyar Dental College, Salem in Collaboration with Sri Venkateshwaraa Dental College, Pondicherry, organized a webinar titled “Combating Via Counselling” delivered by Dr.Mathan.K Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, SVMCHRC, Pondicherry and Followed by taking PLEDGE on NO TOBACCO

Dr.C.Bharath,  Assistant Professor, Dept. of PHD, VMSDC, Salem gave introduction about the program. Dr.N.Saravanan Professor& HoD, Dept. of PHD, VMSDC, Salem, Welcomed the gathering.

Prof.Dr J Baby John, Dean, VMSDC, Salem and Prof.Dr. S. Senthil Nathan Principal,SVDC, Pondicherry spoke about the importance of 'World No Tobacco Day’ and ill effects and need for quitting Tobacco.

Dr. Kuldeep Singh Shekhawat,Associate ProfessorDept. of PHD,SVDC, Pondicherry, introduced the Guest Speaker.

Guest Speaker Dr.Mathan.K, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, SVMCHRC, Pondicherry, gave lecture titled “Combating Tobacco Via Counselling.”

Dr.G. Shobana, Assistant Professor, Dept. of PHD, SVDC, Pondicherry, read out the NO TOBACCO pledge on behalf of the audience.

An video on NO TOBACCO pledge by the interns of SVDC, Pondicherry, was played at the end of the program.

Dr.S. Santhakumari, Assistant Professor, Dept. of PHD, VMSDC, Salem delivered vote of thanks.

Dr.K.Priya Deepa Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Dept. of PHD, VMSDC, Salem was moderator of the program.

A total 248 participants attended the webinar.
