    24th, 25th, 26th, 27th May 2021

    Day 1- 24th May 2021

    The workshop on Research Methodology was conducted for 4 days (24th May to 27th May 2021). The first day Dean, Professor Dr. John Baby John did the felicitation and Associate Dean of Research Dr. Reena Rachel John introduced the Resource persons. The Research associate, Central Research Lab Dr. Nisha Sam spoke on Introduction, defining a research problem, refining research questions, formulating objectives and hypothesis.

    Dr. Balamanikanda Srinivasan Associate Professor, Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery spoke on Sampling and questionnaire design. The last speaker of the day Dr.Reena Rachel John Associate Dean of Research, professor,Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery spoke on Steps in protocol development & Critical appraisal of journal article.

    Day 2 – 25th May 2021

    On the second day of Research methodology workshop Dr. Reena Rachel John, Associate Dean of Research introduced the Resource persons. The first speaker of the day Dr. P Rajathi, Assistant professor Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology spoke on Research Designs -1Selecting appropriate research designs. Observational designs, Cross- Sectional studies. Dr. B.Sekar, Professor Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology spoke on Research Designs -2Case-Control studies, Cohort studies. Followed by Dr. Indra Priyadarshini, Associate professor Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Spoke on Research Designs- 3Experimental: Before- After studies and randomized controlled trial.

    On the third day of Research methodology workshopDr. Reena Rachel John, Associate Dean of Research introduced the guest speaker, Associate professor, Dr.ShyamSivasamy, Department of Public Health Dentistry , Meenakshi Ammal Dental college, Chennai. Dr.Shyam Spoke on Introduction to biostatistics, collection,classification and presentation of data, Measures of central tendency, dispersion and probability distribution.

    On the fourth dayResearch methodology workshopDr.ShyamSivasamy, Department of Public Health Dentistry , Meenakshi Ammal Dental college, Chennai spoke on Inferential statistics, Correlation, regression, sample size calculation. After the session worksheet given to all participants in prior was discussed. The Guest speaker was felicitated with E certificate. Dr. Reena Rachel John Associate Dean Research proposed the vote of thanks.
