REPORT OF VSCOPE 1- NATIONAL E-CONFERENCE

DAY 1 (23/3/2021)

            The event started with the inauguration and virtual lighting of the kuthuvizhaku at 9:30 am. The event was coordinated by Associate Professor Dr P Rajathi, moderated by Associate Professor Dr Indrapriyadharshini and hosted by Assistant Professor Dr M Ambika. The organizing chairman, Professor & Head of the department Dr Maya Ramesh MDS PhD, gave a welcome address to the gathering. Associate Dean Professor Dr Reena Rachel John and Associate Dean Professor N. Mohan felicitated the gathering. Prof Dr NadeemJeddy, Secretary, Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology felicitated the program. Guest of Honour, Prof Dr Baby John addressed all. The Organizing Secretary Professor Dr B Sekar introduced the chairperson, Dean and IAOMP secretary Professor Dr NadeemJeddy of Thai Moogambigai dental college, Chennai. The chairperson introduced the first speaker of the day Dr VinayHazarey MDS, MFDS RCPS (Glasscow), Emeritus Professor DattaMeghe Institute of Medical Sciences Vardha, Pune, India.

            The first session started at 10:00 am by Prof Dr VinayHazarey who gave a wonderful and informative lecture on “Proliferative VerruccousLeukoplakia - Range variation and potential - Indian experience”. Dr Nisha Sam Research Associate CRL, VMSDC conducted Q&A discussion. Associate Professor Dr Mathew Jacob introduced the chairperson Professor & Head Dr K. Karunakaran, Department of Oral Pathology, JKKN Dental college. The chairperson introduced the second speaker of the day, Professor & Head V Ramesh, MDS Department of oral & Microbiology, MGPGI Puducherry. Prof Dr Ramesh gave an enlightening lecture on “Odontogenictumors”.

DAY 2 (23/3/2021)

            Organising Secretary Prof Dr B Sekar introduced the Chairperson Professor & Head Dr PratibaRamani, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Saveetha Dental college to introduce the first speaker of the day Associate Professor Dr Mohammad Nassar, Department of Oral Pathology, Raja Muthiah Dental college. Professor Dr MadhavanNirmal, Department of Oral Pathology, Raja Muthiah Dental college gave an “Introduction to Immunohistochemistry”. Prof Dr Mohammad Nassar gave an informative lecture on “Fundamentals of Immunohistochemistry”.   Associate Professor Dr Mathew Jacob introduced the chairperson of the second and third session of Day 2. The chairperson Professor Dr Rakesh introduced the second speaker of the day, Associate Professor Dr YoithapPrabhunath, Department of Oral Pathology, Vivekanandha Dental college. Dr YoithapPrabhunath delivered lecture on “Immunostaining Technique – An Overview”. The speaker clarified all the questions patiently and clearly. The moderator asked the chair person, professor Dr Rakesh to introduce the third speaker of the day Professor Dr Veeravarmal, Department of Oral Pathology, Raja Muthiah Dental college. The third session was a mind blowing lecture given by Professor Dr Veeravarmal on “Interpretation & Troubleshooting in IHC”. Followed by the session the moderator asked Dr Nisha Research Associate CRL, VMSDC to start with Q&A discussion. The speaker clarified all the questions patiently and clearly. The Final session was chaired by Dr PratibaRamani who introduced the final speaker of the day Professor Dr MadhavanNirmal who gave an enlightening and mind blowing lecture on “Approach to Immunodiagnosis”. Followed by the session the moderator asked Dr Nisha Research Associate CRL, VMSDC to start with Q&A discussion. The speaker clarified all the questions patiently and clearly. The moderator then asked the program coordinator Dr P Rajathi to give vote of thanks. The program was concluded by a wonderful speech by Dr P Rajathi and the feedback link for the second day was posted in the chat box by Dr Diana Prem.
