Deeksharambh – The student induction program 2021 for first year BDS students was organised as per the University Guidelines from 10th February 2021 to 20th February 2021 in our college.

Dr J Sabarinathan Director Academics, VMRFDU, Dean Dr J Baby John, Dr N. Mohan Associate Dean – Academics, Dr Jayashree Mohan Associate Dean – Student Affairs, Dr Diana Prem – First year Academic Coordinator were the main coordinators of the Induction programme along with Administrative Officer, Mr Natarajan R and HR Mrs. Sudishna.

Dr Pallavi - Member secretary of the Mentor committee allotted the Mentors for each student on the day of inauguration, and conducted mentoring sessions on various topics as per the UGC guidelines.

Each day there was lectures by eminent personalities, both internal & external resource persons, which was followed by Cultural/Arts/ Literary / Games sessions conducted by Student council members (Interns) and Mr Rajendran PT.

Anti ragging committee Head, Prof, Dr Jayashree Mohan, addressed the freshers and assured them that our campus is ragging free. Cultural & Sports Committee,

Member secretary Prof Dr D Jayachandran introduced the Student council and Cultural / Sports Committee to the freshers.

Prof Dr Yadav Chakravarthy, introduced the Disciplinary committee to boys of the batch.

Prof Dr Vinola D  introduced important committees like the Internal compliance committee, Disciplinary committee and Student Grievance Committee. Dr Indrapriyadarshini introduced Swayam online cources & Dr Mano vijay introduced the Students Conference conference committee and its functioning.

There were Lectures by Prof Dr J Sabarinathan, Director Academics, on Carrier Pathway, Dr Arun Kumar. J on Environmental awareness, Dr Saramma Mathew, Alumnus of VMSDC, Dr Vinodhini Kirupakaran, Student Counsellor of VMSDC and Dr Sheerin Fathima, MD Psychiatry, VMKV Medical college on Mental health Challenges experienced by students.

The students were taken for a city Tour on the last day of the induction program, along with Mr. Rajendran & Mr Varadharajan.  

On the last day of the Induction program, Valedictory session was conducted in the Presence of Dean Dr J Baby John, Dr N. Mohan Associate Dean – Academics, Dr Jayashree Mohan Associate Dean – Student Affairs & Prof Dr Jayachandran.      

Dr Diana Prem – First year Academic Coordinator summarized the report of the induction program and collected the feedback about the program using google form.
